It is like the "pebble in calm water" analogy. Free Wifi is spurting up in many airports, coffee shops and book stores. But it isn't for beatnik coffee lovin travelers any more.
Over a year ago, Portland's Willamette Week did an article
on a group involved in what they call the Personal Telco Project
. These group of people were going around the Portland downtown area setting up free wireless hot spots all over the place. How rebellious right? More like evolutionary.
Since I read that article
in June of 2004, I have noticed a ton of other articles sprout up. Sports Bars
, Homes...the list goes on and on.
Today I saw an article that Google offered San Francisco free wifi
. As did many other companies.
